SAWE Passive Wireless Temperature System

(Switchgear Temperature Monitoring Solution)

SAWE passive wireless temperature on-line monitoring system is developed to meet the temperature measurement requirements of electric power equipment (such as electric switchgear, cable joint and so on). The product uses a passive wireless temperature sensing technology - surface acoustic wave (SAW) temperature sensing technology. The sensor has the advantages of completely passive (no battery) and wireless reading. It effectively solves the problems of high insulation level, high temperature resistance and convenient maintenance for power equipment.

Comparing with active temperature monitoring system, what is the advantages of passive wireless temperature system ?


No battery requirement: Passive thermometry devices do not require battery power because they use energy in the environment (such as radio frequency or heat) to transmit data, which allows for a relatively long life and does not require periodic battery replacement.


Low maintenance cost: Since the passive temperature measurement device has no batteries, the maintenance cost and the possibility of equipment failure are reduced, which is an important advantage especially for long-term use monitoring systems.


Miniaturization: Passive temperature measurement devices can often be designed to be smaller because they do not need to accommodate batteries and power management circuits, making them suitable for some space-constrained applications.
