(1) Harmonics affect the normal work of all kinds of electrical equipment. The influence of harmonics in the motor will not only cause additional loss, but also produce mechanical vibration, noise and overvoltage, leading the transformer local serious overheating. Harmonics make capacitors, cables and other equipment overheating, insulation aging, life shortening, and direct damage. 

The voltage is slowly raised from zero to rated voltage, in this way, the starting current of the motor in the starting process turns the past overload impulse current not controlled into controllable. And the device conforms the need to adjust the  the starting current. Smooth start-up operation took the place of impact torque in the whole  motor start-up process. This is soft start.

Some new switching switches, such as compound switch and thyristor module, which can work independently for A, B and C phase, in this way,the device is able to compensate any switching single phase. This kind of compensation aim for the single phase is called "Phase-split compensation".
